Here's what the Dorset Council hearing discussed in Dorchester on the 17th of August.

It found that Peter Yeo had brought Shaftesbury Town Council into disrepute through a pattern of behaviour at public meetings which went beyond what the panel considered acceptable political debate.

The hearing cited personal accusations against other councillors, interrupting then-Mayor Alex Chase and questioning his integrity, repeatedly interrupting and muttering despite warnings from the chair, accusing fellow councillors of lacking integrity and that they were turning the council into a joke, interrupting members of the public, standing for much of one meeting huffing with his hands on his hips in a way another councillor said appeared intimidating and speaking in a confrontational, aggressive and disrespectful manner.' It also referred to an email to the town clerk copied to councillors which made allegations of impropriety and was described as offensive in tone.

Shaftesbury town councillors have been called to an extraordinary meeting on the 1st of September during which they'll consider whether to take action against town councillor Peter Yeo.

It follows a ruling by Dorset Council's Audit and Governance Hearing sub-committee down in Dorchester on the 17th of August.

Then a panel of councillors, an independent person and a room filled with senior Dorset Council officers and legal team members, heard complaints brought by Shaftesbury's Mayor, Councillor Andy Hollingshead, against Councillor Yeo.

The committee considered Councillor Yeo's behaviour, which included interrupting other councillors and making negative remarks about Councillor Alex Chase, who was the Mayor at the time of that meeting in March 2025.

We had a town clerk selected that lasted 56 days.

In that meeting of March 2025, I was spoken over by numerous councillors who didn't want me to speak the truth.

Councillor Yeo didn't attend the Dorchester meeting.
