Doom: The Dark Ages

Like, I really liked Doom: The Dark Ages last year, but I, I'll be honest, I didn't finish it, which is the first of the three modern Doom games that I, I haven't act- I haven't finished.

This, Metro is, I think, my favorite first-person shooter in a long time so far.

Nice, dude.

I, you know, whatever.

But I, there are some specific games, for example, the most recent Doom game, which I think is called Doom: The Dark Ages.

Um, I can't get that to run on any Arm-based computer.

Mm.

I wouldn't say they would've prioritized it, but I think it's something that they w- definitely would've pushed for.

And I would go as far to extend this to Doom Dark Ages.

That is a game that they did have intention to bring over to Switch 2.

But then id Software was-

... essentially shuttered.

They were gut- gutted.

So if there is a port of Doom Dark Ages in development, it has to be outside of id Software.

And it really complicates things.

Dark Ages, 91.

That's surprisingly high for a game that didn't sell well.

Yeah.

It's interesting specifically because it's about the DLC.

Not Doom the Dark Ages, but it's DLC that suffered this massive crunch, which then, as we know, has led to a bunch of layoffs.

So here's the write-up.

They say, one of the developers who had spent weeks crunching to ship Revelations on time were laid off just as the expansion was released.

Although what seems to be a continuation of like just any time Crunch shows up is the thing that follows it is typically pretty fantastic because everyone's banded together to say like, well, all this suffering's gotta be worth something.

This better be damn good, right? Because then we can make our demands if this thing sells a lot.

And from what I've heard, Doom the Dark Ages Revelations DLC was incredible.

I have not played it yet.

I just jumped into my second game of the year.

Well, I guess you could put Dark Ages in there.

So this is my third game of the year, and I'm stressed, and I don't know if it's too fast.

I feel like I need to take more time.

And everybody's coming around, and they're like... oh what are we watching you're like oh we're watching my favorite movie the movie that i i love the most it's it's venom and then you turn it on and you and you watch through that or you're like they're like hey we're gonna watch this tv show what are we gonna watch punisher we're gonna watch the punisher because i love anti-heroes because i'm a stepdad okay yeah okay oh hey what are we gonna play what

let's play a game we're gonna all

play together and watch oh let's play doom We're going to play Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, and Doom the Dark Ages, which are, in fact, stepdad games.

So I'm just a man with superior taste is what you're telling me.

No difference.

Now, Doom the Dark Ages, I thought, okay, now we're going to see something different on Doom the Dark Ages, and you don't.

From the old SSD all the way up to 5.0, it's 58, 58, 58, 58 across the board.

No difference whatsoever, even on the 1% lows, nothing.

So that basically you can play the Dark Ages on your original SSDs that won't do any better than your 5.0.

And just quickly, I was looking at SSD prices like an hour ago, right? Yeah.
