Several notable books have also emerged from this mysterious incident, each attempting to offer possible explanations for the tragedy.

The first one that really dug deep into the case and brought attention to the public, especially in the Western world, was Dead Mountain: The Untold True Story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident by Donnie Eichar.

What made Aker's book stand out was how it blended academic research with solid storytelling.

It also introduced a new theory, one we'll cover a bit later in this video.

The truth may lie in the mountain itself and the brutal, dangerous conditions they faced.

When you set up a tent in the open, especially on the side of a mountain, winds can be intense.

Donnie Eichar's book, Dead Mountain: The Untold True Story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident, one of the most comprehensive books on the incident, claims winds may have been the cause of the tragedy, but not in the way you might expect.

He claims that winds have caused a unique phenomenon known as infrasound.
