Don't Stand So Close to Me

Um, the readers of Creem Magazine voted this the 16th best album of 1980.

Two pretty big hits off of this album, Don't Stand So Close to Me and De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da.

We have heard quite a few songs off of this album already, including, uh, Driven to Tears, When the World is Running You Down, You Make the Best of What's Still Around, Bombs Away, and Behind My Camel.

Let's go ahead and listen to Man in a Suitcase.

Must I be a man in a suitcase? Is it me, the man with the singer's face? Must I be a man in a suitcase? Is it me, the man with the singer's face? Another heap of my collection

Yeah, I think The Police had to be on this list.

Um, I think there's a number of us where if we didn't hear Don't Stand So Close to Me or De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da one more time, we probably wouldn't be upset.

Um, but-

Matthew, you had an aunt from lower part of the state down there in Sumner.

By the way, what was Don't Stand So Close to Me really about?

Oh, because he had gas.

It

It was weird.

Think about that Police song, Don't Stand So Close to Me, about a teacher lusting after a student.

Yeah, yeah.

I mean, you wouldn't, you probably wouldn't get a hit out of that today.
