Don Rigsby

We normally try to protect the same chords, chord progression of the original song, but we wanted to put our take on it.

And a funny story about this set is we got hired to do a private show for a guy up in Northern Kentucky, and it was us and Don Rigsby, you know, and There's no better traditional bluegrass artists out there, of course, than Mr.

Don.

We love Don.

Hope you've enjoyed the, uh, the music, uh, videos that we've kinda intertwined from the 2026 River Folk Fest.

Um, uh, we had a great time at that, um, with Rebecca Frazier and Darren Nicholson Band and Josh and Don Rigsby as well as, uh, Darren and Brooke Aldridge.

Uh, so, uh, hope you enjoyed some of those music videos, uh, that we stuck in there.

Uh, kinda make this podcast a little different where you don't have to just sit and look at us the whole time, so.

So she'll kick the show off, and then our buddy Darren Nicholson and the Darren Nicholson Band will be playing right after that.

And then you and Don Rigsby are going to do a Skag's Rise tribute show, and then we'll cap the afternoon off with Darren and Brooke Aldridge.

It's going to be a good day of music,

soon which we want to mention uh uh that's coming up october the second and third in calvert city kentucky so um be sure and make plans for that we've about got things well everything's really finalized it's just uh all the logistics and everything but um Yeah, it's going to be a great lineup.

It's a free festival, so come Friday night, there's just an open jam session at 5.30, and then the South Union Bluegrass Band from the Rosene, Kentucky area, like you mentioned earlier, they're going to play at 7, and then on Saturday, as everything kicks off at 11 a.m., we've got the square dancing folks from Murray, Kentucky are going to be there doing some square dancing, and Then Rebecca Frazier takes the stage at noon, and then Darren Nicholson band at 1.30. Josh and Don Rigsby will be taking the stage at 3 o'clock, and then Darren and Brooke Aldridge will be on right after them, somewhere around 4.30 or so.

Make plans to attend.

It's a great family festival, and they've got lots of things for the kids and jumpy houses and food vendors and arts and crafts vendors, and there's a little water park thing.

The current lineup also includes Jesse Smathers on guitar and vocals, Adam Miller on mandolin and vocals, Mike Hartgrove on fiddle, and Cameron Keller on bass.

Over the years, the Lonesome River Band has been home to a remarkable list of musicians, including Dan Tominski, Ronnie Bowman, Don Rigsby, Kenny Smith, and Ricky Simpkins, and the group has remained influential through several generations of bluegrass players.

This week, they make the highest debut on the countdown, entering at number seven.
