Dominion theology

Now, also heavily in this movement is the New Apostolic Reformation.

All right? This group, the NAR, New Apostolic Reformation, Dominionism, Kingdom Now, it's got many different terms and faces to it, but it's got the same theology.

I don't have time to break down all of the theology of this.

We've did that on an- another podcast.

Yeah, it's just really in- reinterpreted within a charismatic context.

So there, there's been Dominionists, people who believe that the Church has to be in dominion, and part of that is, I mean, I w- don't wanna get too wonky about it, but the idea that all of the promises of God have been cons- subsumed by the Church.

Now, it's interesting, because there's never really any new theology.

My pastor, Chuck Smith, used to always say that every 10 years they recycle the same false doctrines.

I'll just go straight to the point.

I titled this message The Warfare of Dominion.

You know, when you're a student of church history, there's a lot you learn and beside it also scripture.

You look at the Word of God in time of Jesus alongside -- You look at e-early church history.

Am I talking to somebody here?

Yeah.

The Church is in Dominion.

Are you listening to me?

It just has a different name to it.

It's called Christian Reconstructionism or Dominionism.

It is the idea that as Christians we need to reclaim this earth for God, and through electing the right public officials, by praying, by a spiritual revival, we can reclaim this earth for God.

We can reclaim Washington, DC.

In 2007, Wagner said the following that I believe really outlines what this NAR movement is really built upon.

Quote, our theological bedrock is what has been known as dominion theology.

This means that our divine mandate is to do whatever is necessary by the power of the Holy Spirit to retake the dominion of God's creation, which Adam forfeited to Satan in the Garden of Eden.

It is nothing less than seeing God's kingdom coming and his will being done here on earth as it is in heaven." Here's a more fleshed out explanation from Wagner himself.

Well, let's go back.

Why don't you take us on that journey? Maybe could we start with just talking about, like, what is dominionism and where that comes from?

Sure.

Dominionism is the belief...

You're just not calling it white supremacism.

Would you say that's still, like, dominating over people, ruling over people? Like, there's still oppressor and oppressed?

Well, dominionism is absolutely that.

Right.

This movement called the New Apostolic Reformation popped up in 1996 and really went viral within evangelical Christianity.

At the heart of that movement is a dominion theology called the Seven Mountains Mandate-

Uh-huh

... which commands Christians as a religious duty to conquer the seven mountains of society, including government.

And the only evidence for this, I believe, was a bipartisan commission that Tim Waltz, the, uh, the governor had appointed him to several years ago.

Uh, there's no doubt, though, that Bolter was involved with a very militant Christian network centered around Dominionism.

Uh, specifically, he had ties to the Kansas City Prophets and the New Apostolic Reformation movements.

Bizarrely, one of his mentors, I believe the person he had credited with his conversion, had, uh, murdered in South Africa back in the 19...
