Week one waiver wire pickups, after watching it, uh, are there any players you think that could be available on a lot of, uh, leagues?

Yeah.

I flagged the first one on Thursday night right after the Rams-Niners game.

Actually, it was before the Rams-Niners game, 'cause I gave out Kaylon Black over eight-and-a-half rushing yards.

It was one of the most mispriced lines for week one in the NFL.

Everybody was thinking, you know, Christian McCaffrey's gonna come back, an important game against the Rams.

The Niners will probably be behind.

Is that worth a sprinkle at this stage of the year?

Dom, just if you look at that MVP board, a future perhaps, give me something with some really nice value to it.

Yeah, I like Joe Burrow.

I think 10-1 to an MVP.

The more I look at it, it's an interesting situation.

A lot of people think that this is the year that the Bengals finally make a run in the wide open AFC.

Their defense couldn't be any worse than it was last year.

Their offense is finally healthy with Burrow, Chase, and Higgins.

I'm curious, when you hear the term sleeper, kind of a team that no one's talking about, who do you like?

uh before the segment i and i by the way i got one coming in from justin we could start off with this uh fancy question can you rank and maybe this is a little too deep but maybe you could go into the top five says top six quarterbacks for the season please

top six quarterbacks for the season i'd say uh josh allen drake may uh probably keep lamar jackson in that conversation um I'm having a hard time here because I'm very high on Justin Herbert.

I know people don't like to hear it.

I like coming on these shows and sort of giving a high feeling than most people expect.

And if there's another guy that I'm going to add to that top five, it's probably going to be Herbert.

Obviously, Joe Burrow's there as well.

I think there's a couple guys that are just on the fringe, depending on how things play out with their season schedule.

So with those back-to-back picks at 24-25, out of those receivers and Josh Allen, who do you think you would target?

For teams that maybe, you know, late round, is it worth taking like an Odell Beckham Jr. who made the Giants this year? And with so much time off, is that an option if you're further down?

Yeah, I think towards the end, I think some of the guys, whether they're veterans that have been around and they've sort of reached towards the end of their career, but they might get a last chance here to have a couple of big games, like an Odell Beckham.

I think that's an option.

I think some of these younger guys, if you want to stash them on the bottom of your roster and have them in place for later in the year, there's a bunch of names out there that could... potentially make an impact year one.

I'm talking about Jonah Coleman from the Broncos, Allen from the Kansas City Chiefs.

I think there's a bunch of guys that aren't expected to start right away that as you go further on in the season, they could get an opportunity.

So always keep an eye out for schedule and sort of where they're going to get their opportunity to step into your lineup.

I think, you know, a big fan of Josh Allen.

I, I understand the organization's been through a lot and, uh, you know, a lot of close friends that are Bills fans.

Yeah, I don't think it's a hot take, uh, at all.

In fact, uh, I posted about it this morning.

Who do you think has the most value to make the playoffs?

Yeah, I think if I had to pick any of those teams that are in that two-to-one sort of range, I probably would go with the New Orleans Saints.

And I know that might sound like a little bit of a surprise, but obviously we know with that division, the Falcons and Panthers both have longer odds to make the playoffs than New Orleans.

We saw Carolina win the division last year with an 8-9 record.

It's clearly the worst division in football.

And Tampa Bay is the favorite right now.

You could see all four teams you could bet at plus money to get into the playoffs.

Out of all those guys, and maybe throw in a Derrick Henry if he has another great season or a James Cook, who is leading, you know, in terms of who will be the offensive player of the year?

Not that anybody had the Dodgers not as the favorites to win the World Series, I'm assuming, but where did the odds shift now that they got the white whale known as Tariq Scooble?

Yeah, they remain the obvious favorite right now to win the World Series.

I mean, nearly even money.

There's There's really no value there at this point, plus 155 to win the World Series.

And I had said it last week.

We had a conversation on the show just about, you know, where would Scooble end up if I had to put my money on it? And I said, you know, it'd be great for him to end up with Milwaukee because they got something good going there with the Brewers this season.

And, you know, you never know from one year to the next if you're going to be able to carry it over.

Who are closest to the Rams in terms of favorite to win it all this season?

Absolutely.

And you know what? It's been an interesting point of conversation and something that I've had...

I've talked to a couple of people about this.

It spanned a very long time, if you could believe it or not, the sort of public sway that the name LeBron James has.

And it's understandable.

Who's the best team in the CFL?

So what are you expecting on that front? And does the easier path theoretically for Argentina maybe make you lean towards Messi?

I think at this point it has me sort of doing the opposite.

You know, uh, Argentina's gonna be an underdog versus England.

And, and as impressive as their run to the final has been, you mentioned, uh, the easier path, now they've got England in the semifinal and then one of France versus Spain.

So, you know, as impressive as what Messi has done has been, I almost feel like it could be the end of the line.

Now, Argentina, I feel like has been very fortunate to get this far despite that easy road to the semifinal.

I wonder if that's gonna continue versus England.

And what about just the, the match-ups in general projecting over to the final? Is there any sort of advantage here that England or Argentina may have? Th- the fact that the semifinal between Spain and France is gonna be a dog fight by all accounts.

How hard is it to try to handicap and figure out where the line should be On a day like today when we're only, you know, June 23rd, and you know so much activity is probably going to happen in the next couple weeks or so.

I don't know that it's too difficult.

I mean, I mentioned Florida last week as a team, 13-1 to win the Cup, 8-1 to win the Eastern Conference.

Obviously, we saw the adjustment now, plus 360 to win the Eastern Conference.

That's a significant change.

If you have Florida and Carolina in pocket, you're probably in pretty good shape at those numbers, especially considering how the rest of the Eastern Conference looks on paper.

I would look at a team like Montreal, 13-1 to win the East, if I was looking at another team that could potentially make a splash.

Hey, Don, what about the World Cup? I know people are having fun betting those top players like Messi and Mbappe.

But do we have odds for next year's Stanley Cup winner already up?

Yeah, we do.

I'll tell you this.

Toronto's 40-1.

Philadelphia also 40-1. much different circumstance for the Leafs than last year when they were among the top five choices in the Eastern Conference.

I would actually be paying close attention to these futures markets.

Once again, I sprinkled on a couple of teams yesterday when I had some time to look over them.

How are you feeling about Montreal?

Yeah.

Yeah, I think the number one thing to keep in mind is just to take a conservative approach when it comes to a lot of conversation about potential dark horse teams or sleeper teams.

I would be very careful when it comes to betting on a team that's outside the top six choices.

We have odds for the tournament dating all the way back to 1982, and 1982 was the last time and the only time on record that we have a team that was longer than 12-1 to win the trophy.

Last 40 years, the only team that was longer than 9-1 was France, and they were 12-1 in 2018.

So what that tells me is that the top six teams in the tournament, you're looking at Spain, France, England, Portugal, Argentina, and Brazil.

One of those six teams is likely to win the tournament.

But like, can we can we have a bet that they're going to score more than one goal this tournament? Like what's going on?

With 32 teams moving on to the knockout stages out of the 48 in the World Cup, which is just a few days away now, what's your outlook for Team Canada and what are some of your best bets on that front?

Yeah, certainly one of the most fascinating teams to handicap, and that's sort of been the sentiment when I've talked to, you know, Stephen Caldwell, Kevin Kilban, Luke Wildman.

We did a power ranking show last week, and we were trying to handicap, you know, we were discussing how many goals will they score.

Obviously, goals...

Scoring has been a concern for this Canada team.

Obviously decimated by injuries.

How healthy will they be in the tournament? And then going up against teams like Switzerland or Bosnia, will they be wide open, high scoring games? Or will they be low scoring, safe games with potentially three teams from their group qualifying for the knockout stage? Maybe it only takes three points to get there.

Who do you got? And give us a play for this series or maybe game one.

I would imagine most betting sites have Mitch Marner at the top of everybody's list.

Yeah, and right now a clear favorite, obviously, with Vegas expected to go to the final.

And, you know, Mitch Barter continues to produce plus 185 odds on favorite to win the Consmite Trophy.

The names right behind them all play for Carolina.

Obviously, the Hurricanes now favorite in that series up 2-1.
