Dogecoin Labs has launched in partnership with the Dogecoin Foundation, bringing the MyDogeWallet, DogeOS application platform and such app payment solution together under an independent organization led by CEO Jordan Jefferson.

The organization says it will expand Dogecoin's utility across consumer applications, payments, commerce, DeFi, gaming, and other products.

The foundation will continue overseeing ecosystem stewardship and open-source development.

Jefferson said the initiative was formed to unite Dogecoin's builders and develop the cryptocurrency's potential.

The consolidation includes MyDoge, which the launch announcement says has more than 500,000 users, and DogeOS, whose EVM-compatible public testnet launched on September 30.

Such app, developed by House of Doge and BragHouse, provides merchants with features such as invoicing and in-person QR payments.

The launch comes as Dogecoin's efforts to attract sustained investor demand through traditional finance have struggled.

Bitwise announced plans to close its Dogecoin exchange-traded fund in September.
