It's closer to the coast of Turkey than it is to the coast of Greece.

So if you're picturing the Mediterranean, it's kind of on the northeast.

The eventual victory for the Italians would yield the colony of Libya and the annexation of the Dodecanese island.

The conflict is also noteworthy for the first aerial attack in which an Italian recon pilot threw hand grenades on an enemy position.

So I think that's an interesting phenomenon too.
