Doc Samson

is it

Doc Sampson? Was he also green

hair? He

also got longer green hair.

Who else do you really

need? And this movie actually had Doc Samson in it.

He's not really Doc Samson, but he's in it.

And the game actually introduces a pivotal Hulk character that has never been in a movie still to this day.

Rick Jones.

There's specifically situations like Ted Lasso, all three of these movies.

I want to say even going back to The Incredible Hulk, I want to say the dude who plays Doc Sampson and Betty had a therapeutic relationship before they were romantic partners.

And it's like, I want to be clear about this.

It's not technically illegal, but it's highly unethical.

And I go, yeah, but this was a...

If anybody knows comics well enough, as I do, that follows the Hulk stuff, Hulk 370, that one thing came out, and then they had this break-off of Doc Samson for just a while.

And It was such a tease.

And I'm like, well, when is it going to come out? And I came every week.

Stuby, if you could see my desk right now, I have two action figures on it.

It is a Professor Hulk from that run where he's in the bunny slippers and has a giant gun.

And it's Doc Samson.

Do you know what I'm talking about? I do.

Uh, Hulk crushes Vector's hands.

And then in Issue 278, Doc Samson shows up and Betty explains what happened to him.

Uh, we see V- Vapor still trying to help Ironclad, and the U-Foes have been pretty thoroughly defeated.

There's a ...

[laughs]

We're gonna cut all of the stuff with Leonard Samson and the interpersonal relationship in the middle of the movie.

We're gonna cut the moments where Bruce Banner breaks down and cries because you want to show his human side.

We don't really want any of that.

I want him now and I want him dead.

It's a really beautiful moment that uses Hurt really well.

And the other big change in terms of deleted scenes that is, to my mind, essential to the movie is the Ty Burrell character of Leonard Samson, who is Betty Ross' boyfriend, who appears, I think, in two scenes of the finished cut of this movie but has an entire arc in the middle of the movie where Banner, after he meets Betty and after Betty picks him up in the rain and after Betty brings him to the house, Samson is a much more active character where Samson cooks dinner for the pair of them as they're talking.

He and Banner and Betty have dinner together.

Uh, and, um, the, uh, Betty Ross, Betsy Ross, uh, Hulk's girlfriend is turned into a gamma irradiated Harpy.

Ooh, At one point, Doc Samson and Sasquatch switch bodies and Alpha Flight gets called Gamma Flight and they're out there hunting down Hulk's.

And there is there's an amazing issue where Hulk like Hulk is now big, dumb Hulk again.

Right.

He's grading.

He's helping lead stuff with, uh, with, um, Doc Samson.

Uh, no, Professor, or Doc Connors.

Doc Connors.
