So I spent my entire career in kinda big law, in one of the top 10 firms in the world.

I started out at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, ended up at DLA Piper, where I was a partner chief data scientist and led their global AI practice.

And so throughout my career, I've w- been working at the intersection of law, data, and technology across all different industries, which has been just a wonderful view into how the world works.

And m- my main job was really working with automated decision-making systems, so algorithms.

And so thinking through what is reasonable is where the, the strength of your compliance comes from.

So where does AI...

You talked about the study you did at DLA Piper about the types of time recordings, billable hour recordings, God bless them, that I, [laughs] uh, I did for years, as do all other lawyers.

But does the six or seven things you identified in that analysis, does that translate to the in-house world for lawyers as well, or are there a different set of tasks that in-house lawyers do?

I am managing director of AI innovation at DLA Piper.

DLA Piper is the third largest law firm in the world.

The Pursue Task Force itself had been stood up separately by the Department of War on May 1, 2026.

According to a summary published by the law firm DLA Piper, the July guidance directs reporting into it.

Intelligence community elements get 30 days from receipt to coordinate with ODNI and a PERSU designee, and they have to make their workforces aware that any NDA barring disclosure to the president, to the task force, or to other designees is no longer in force.

personnel holding UAP information are to be routed to AERO or to an Authorized Pursue Representative.

Um, but at least there's, like, more activity happening.

Um, I personally have found that, like, the DLA Piper, uh, client alert that was written and sent around is perhaps the, uh, most clear, uh, and effective piece of writing that I've seen on the current state of this.

Uh, what the structure is, what the statutory requirements are, how the, uh, NDA guidance released by Erin Lucas at the Office of, uh, the Director for National Intelligence, how that guidance, um, relates back to...

You know, and there's this, uh, that guidance was issued by result of this, like, uh, presidential national security memo-

Uh, and that guidance being more, uh, being tighter, more constrained than what's already part of the statute.

So I'll say again, um, and maybe you could, you know...

So they ruled that testimony using SYNAID about the authorship was admissible, again, without restrictions.

In the fourth case, this is the US District Court for the District of Arizona, uh, DLA Piper was representing Best Western.

Um, Best Western rev- withdrew its motion in limine to exclude my testimony and SYNAID method.

The authority behind it comes from the Fiscal 2023 National Defense Authorization Act, codified at Title 50 of the U.S. Code , which created a secure channel for people inside the government to report what they know about UAP.

It does not authorize anyone to release classified information to the public.
