So, the picture-making fellas...

They're a First Nations art collective and they're based on Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung country in Ballarat.

Shout out, that's where I'm from.

And they come together to make works that tackle pretty important political issues and racism, but it's often interjected with tongue-in-cheek humour, which is kind of evident in the... like title of this work, you know, why don't white fellas like trees? Um, but the, the trio of works or the trip ditch, as we would say in the art world, um, is exploring the removal of, uh, sacred trees on Jabberong country, which is in the Western district kind of past, uh, Beaufort towards the Grampians or Garryward.

I'm going to go and mow a paddock before our own comes.

Just Surrender Creative Conversations is made by me, Kirsten Krause, at my kitchen table on the land of the Dja Dja Wurrung.

Today's episode of Out of the Frame, Conversations about Photography was recorded on the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung country.

I'd like to acknowledge traditional owners of the land that we live, work, create and thrive on, the people of the Kulin Nation.

I pay respects to the elders past and present.

This episode was recorded and edited on the lands of the Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung peoples.

Long before any book was written, memory was carried here through story and through country itself, in mineral springs of volcanic soil, in the bark of river red gums, in salt on the wind off the bay.

I pay my respects to Elders past and present, and to all First Nations people listening.

So I'll use myself as an example.

If I was to travel outside of my two home countries, I'm both Woiwurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung, and I was to do a speech or MC or some sort of speaking role outside of those countries, I would try my very best to Do it in my own words, a statement of acknowledgement to both the people of the land, and I will try to name them to try and show to them that I've put a bit of effort into knowing where I am and the people that I am acknowledging, because that means a lot, and the country itself.

And I'll even try and find out if there's any elders or community members that may be there and any of their elders I might name if it was appropriate.

So there are template acknowledgements that people can read and say themselves.
