What if a walk through downtown Raleigh could also be a walk through the city's history? The Chavis-Dix Strollway is a cultural trail connecting John Chavis Memorial Park and Dorothea Dix Park and the neighborhoods, businesses, landmarks, and stories in between.

On this episode, we talk to project members Ken Bowers and Dania Sandeep to explore how the Strollway celebrates Raleigh's cultural heritage and learn more about what's planned, what comes next, and how the community is helping guide the project.

Everyone's aware we kicked off the Shave a Stick Strollway Project in January of this year.

So that's kind of the first Heritage Trail idea that really came percolating up.

I think the strollway came from two sources.

One is the Dix Park Master Plan.

The Dix Park Master Plan said we're doing this new park, largest new urban park in North America.

I think you're seeing that develop more.

The stuff you see down by Dix Park, that's amazing.

I like seeing a lot of that.

By the way, that's the sign of a growing city.
