Disputation of the Holy Sacrament

And you have two other walls in the room that also have very similar fresco style paintings.

One is called La Disputa, which is theology, and that's on the opposite wall.

So you have School of Athens, which obviously represents theology on one wall, and then on the opposite wall you have the theology painting, and then you have literature on another wall in the room.

So theology, philosophy, literature each have... a painting in this room.

All their conventional architecture, their graceful shaping and painting of pottery, whatsoever other art they practiced, was dependent for its greatness on this sheet anchor of central aim, true shape of living man.

Then take for your type of the Italian school Raphael's Disputa del Sacramento.

That will be an accepted type by everybody and will involve no possibly questionable points.

The Germans will admit it, the English academicians will admit it, and the English purists and Pre-Raphaelites will admit it.

We've already just talked about the Parnassus, and then the next is the School of Athens.

We will not talk about the other two, the cardinal and theological virtuals, because you and I really aren't cardinal theological virtuals type of people, are we? And the fourth one is the Disputation of the Holy Sacrament.

And Jeff, you and I really aren't the Disputation of the Holy Sacrament kind of people either.

So we've covered the Parnassus, and we're going to go jump into the School of Athens.

Okay.
