Discreet Music

David Bowie was going through, he had been touring in the US, he had drug issues, he was strung out and worn out.

He wanted to change, but as he was touring around the States, he listened to Another Green World and Discreet Music, the Eno albums over and over and over again as a way to sort of calm down and relax.

So when it came time to make his next album, he said, I want to go do something totally different.

I want Brian Eno to produce it.

Don't know it.

Um, a bit kinda Krautrock-y, and there was a bit of Eno Discreet Music at times.

Um, so I was just kinda wondering did you guys want to stay loyal to the original score, or was it more about improvising in the moment, or what-

... live, the live score version.

Um, a- and, you know, there's influences that you, you mention.

I think some of that comes from just the kit that we use, you know? And but m- I mean, my starting point is Discreet Music-
