Dirt on Me

My- maybe it's my favorite song of yours, and I've listened to it many times.

Beautiful video, uh, Dirt On Me.

You says it captures your whole life ethos in a song.

It's a song about choosing empathy and compassion while you're being ostracized and, uh, cut down.

Sometimes it takes a few days, weeks, years or something, but, um, but if I, if I'm living my best and doing my best, I look at life through that lens of, like, no matter what's happening to you, we just gotta, like, love unconditionally, even if we're getting love with conditions.

Um, I mean, even when we were writing that, and I wrote that with Adam Mack, one of the Cow Gays, Blake Haney, who's also queer, and then a friend, Shawn Trainer, and we were like, "Oh, no big deal.

Just, we're just, like, trying to tackle the meaning of life in this chorus." [laughs] Like, um, and you know, again, turn of phrase with the dirt on me and, like, till there's nothing but dirt on me.

And, and really, like, if I look at life that way and go into the ground someday, uh, you know, knowing that I, like, loved unconditionally regardless of what anybody else does, then I'll be happy.
