Dipsy

Speaking of Teletubbies, as we were, did you know I was around, well, friend of the show's, colleague of the show, really, Alex Gross' house on Saturday night with Alex and his two-year-old, Sid, who has some Teletubby toys in rotation.

Did you know that Dipsy is canonically black?

Huh.

That is just apparently a thing that completely passed us by as kids.

Let me think about this.

I don't know if it's a sort of JK Rowling sort of, you know, rebranding Dumbledore as gay sort of situation.

But yeah, apparently Dipsy is and always has been black.

So Dipsy has a hat that is sort of a little bit on the Parliament Funkadelic spectrum, like a sort of, or maybe Jamiroquai has as the 90s.

bit, if you remember in the 28 years later, There is that psycho that was Dipsy and doing the Dipsy dance.

And so, yeah, that kind of half inspired it.

So it can still be sort of connected to horror because now Teletubbies because that movie is forever solidified as as part of the horror culture.

Lala was one of four Teletubbies.

Lala, Tinky Winky, Dipsy and Poe.

So we kept Lala.

And then baby Barry was Barry, but because he never got very big and because he's just the littlest and he's mommy's little boy, he's baby Barry.

...

Dipsy.

Dipsy.

Uh, and for some weird reason or weird mistake, with subtitles.

Mm-hmm.

"Hey, mummy." [laughs]

Fortunately, the Teletubbies-

"Dipsy is talking about killing Laa-Laa."
