Ding Junhui

Well, Kyren doesn't like playing Mark Selby, does he? He actually openly admits it, which that was a bit, bit dodgy thing to do against a rival really, but he beat him this time.

Uh, Ding Junhui, gotta say, p- pleased for Ding.

Uh, you know, back getting deep again.

He beat Joe O'Connor 4-1 at that stage.

We've just seen a lot of tennis in America, and they are making an absolute pig's ear of that sport of every, every Grand Slam they have now.

They have players starting matches at midnight, and they tend to be longer slam matches than snooker matches.

So anyway, uh, quarter finals, Ding Junhui, six.

Kyren Wilson, two.

And looking even further ahead, seeded 14 for the World Championship.

This suggests there are a number of players ahead of him defending points over the coming months, most notably Ding Junhui.

And given Chang's also qualified for the British and English Open, he's very well positioned to maintain a seeded position for the UK Championship.

I have a question for you.

The Chinese promoters, they have a promoter's pick, it's known as.

And it was really instituted just to get Ronnie at the venue.

But the promoter of the International Championship has given it to Ding Junhui, I think, which is very interesting.

the Chinese have their own superstars now.

I've always been a big fan of Ding Junhui, but since his international championship win nearly two years ago, his form has mostly been somewhat able and looks to imminently drop out of the top 16.

But just on that, Harry, he's held on for now, but as you say, you know, it could happen at any point.

What do you think is the current cause of his struggles with form? And could it be due to the rise of his various younger compatriots? He has, of course, fallen out of the top 16.

Because if you lost first round here as well, then you've got some catching up to do early on.

People like Ding Junhui, Barry Hawkins, he went out early.

And Barry's one of those players I mentioned that we'll see what those guys think if, because he's been in China for sort of over three weeks, best part of the month, and he's won one game in that time.

So we'll see how those guys feel after this one, how they find it the whole time.

So it'll be interesting to see what happens there.

We've only ever had one Chinese, well, number one, obviously Ding Junhui.

So we will follow that race.
