Diksha

My mother was an ardent devotee of Baba.

Although my mother, she had her Diksha in a different school and she had her Guru.

But then, as I have seen, my mother, she was spiritually attracted to different faiths, Gurus, I think one of those, his passion and tryst to find out what is truth, what is compassion, what is love and what the spiritual gurus all about and how their teachings could influence the life.

She came across Shatushaibaba.

Yes, because we all belong from the Ramakrishna mission.

We took the Diksha from Ramakrishna mission.

But at the end of the day, what I find that all are in the same, I mean, same path, same journey.

And I created my Pranayama practice for spiritual awakening.

If you reach level four, I show you how to do your own awakening without going for Diksha and Gurus and so forth.

Between Diksha, you know, getting initiation from a guru and doing it on your own, I would say exponentially better to do it on your own because you're allowing your body to develop at its own pace and at a safe pace and to awaken when it's ready to do it naturally.

Then someone, boom, force you to into a zone maybe you're not ready for it actually there's a 99 chance you're not ready for what's coming and they may put you on a level that gonna be so so high that you're gonna drop when you drop it's going to be a massive drop or you're just doing your own things haphazardly you know uh and uh start having massive involuntary uh Kundalini awakenings with all the adverse effects to that, especially the account of Gopi Krishna on his Kundalini awakening.

He's just practicing three hours, an average of three hours of meditation, you know, for years, right? Dedicated practice from his early adult life.

That sacrifice is fivefold, namely the Agnihotra, the new and full moon sacrifices, the four monthly sacrifices, the animal sacrifice, the Soma sacrifice.

The Soma sacrifice is the most perfect of sacrifices, for in it these five kinds of ceremonies are seen, the first which precedes the libations, the Diksha, etc., then three libations, and what follows, the Avabhrita, etc., is the fifth.

Fourth Khanda He who knows one sacrifice above another, one day above another, one deity above the others, he is clever.

Now this great ukta, the Nishkevalya Sastra, is the sacrifice above another, the day above another, the deity above others.

The context in which that God is propitiated is also radically redefined.

And therefore the context of Diksha, who can be admitted and who has the qualifications of admitting, that's also radically reframed.

And so this idea is incredibly progressive and it, as you can see, is a bit... at odds with an ancient tradition where only certain people with a certain kind of body who were born into a certain circumstance could access it.

So essentially it's a conversation about diksha, initiation.

And more importantly, like I wanted a different lineage.

I wanted a different guru who could like teach me different things to help me contextualize or deepen the things that I already knew.

So through some finagling, eventually I got Diksha in the Ramakrishna mission and that now opens a new can of worms because while I love to teach Swami Vivekananda along the lines of the Ramakrishna Mat and mission interpretation of Swami Vivekananda, while I love to teach the gospel of Sri Ramakrishna along the lines of the Belramat and mission interpretation of Ramakrishna, it doesn't change that I also grew up a Shaiva and it doesn't change that I've also been studying texts and practicing texts outside of what my grandfather had and knew and taught and definitely outside what my Ramakrishna Mission Guru knew and had and taught.

And both gurus had always encouraged me to follow my heart and do my own inquiry and practice my own texts and study my own texts.

But, of course, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, in his omniscience, understood the intention of Sanatana, and before the Ratha Yatra, as he had arrived and so forth, went to see him, and he gave him this kind of instruction.

He said, Diksha Kali, at the time of Diksha, Krishna Kali, bhakta kari atmasam arpan.

The bhakta, at the time of initiation, there's a few, there's a couple of key words in this statement of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

At the time of initiation, when the bhakta does atmasam arpan, sekale, at that time, that Krishna makes his body, atmasam, hmm, equal to himself, like himself.

But how do we digest this? Because many of us have been initiated and it doesn't seem like that happened to us, perhaps.

So that question has to be dealt with.

But I think that we have to look at Diksha as a function within what's called Sambandhagyan, the imparting of knowledge of relationship.

What's my relationship with material nature? What's my relationship with Bhagavan? What's the nature of the relationship between material nature and Bhagavan? So on and so forth.

So okay, but it's mantra, right? There's no harm in reciting from the tantric version, right? Tantra, mantra.

And this is the fastest way, right? So they say you need diksha.

And those who don't believe in diksha, and I don't believe in it, Because most, I believe 99% of the people giving Diksha are unscrupulous because they know a higher level, higher dimensional level.

When they giving you the Diksha, they control you because they got controlling power over your energy.

And as you increasing in energy, they can steal your energy.

because they're the one who awakened you.

And he stated that as a youth in 1892, he was unable to go to Benares, but he prayed to Lahiri for spiritual instruction.

And lo and behold, Lahiri Mahasaya appeared before Bhupendra in the dream and gave him the Diksha, the initiation of Kriya.

Later, Bipendra went to Benares, managed to get there physically, and he asked again for Diksha from Lahiri Mahasaya, who in turn responded by saying, I've already initiated you in a dream.

So it's a real doozy, that one, Priyank, if I can say that.

yeah i think um if you read a bit of the bio of his um which is available on various websites i'll put a link to it he was really ill at one stage and um he wanted to go to see the himashi and maybe this was this specific case where he had this vision
