So how has this data been used by federal government for immigration enforcement? Okay, so number one, ICE and other agencies purchase data already.

There's a company called Digital Recognition Network.

It's part of Motorola Solutions.

They basically pay repo guys.

And the reality is that it hasn't been going on long enough for us to know for sure, but... kind of like we pointed out earlier with the OEM applications, the bad side, the concerning side is so concerning that it makes you want to just avoid it altogether.

And so my point in this piece is that several of these private companies like Digital Recognition Network or DRN, part of Motorola Solutions, they are collecting billions with a B of photographs of people or really of their license plates.

And that data, unlike police data, is not searchable or auditable by the public.

So at least with police, you can go to the police and say, I want all your audit logs.
