Talk about that a little bit.

Do you see that not just on the local repeaters, say, in the Florida area, but in talk groups, you know, on DMR and all these other modes? And we have the ability, you know, to talk on all-star nodes, DMR talk groups, et cetera, around the world.

Do you find that people are, that hams now just don't have conversations?

Yeah, I mean, the repeaters, you know, on that video, the comments are still coming in to this day.

I don't need all those antennas.

I don't need to buy a radio.

I have this device right here, and it goes to Wi-Fi, and I could do DMR, DSTAR, Fusion, and they don't care about repeaters.

They don't care about HF wires or antennas.

And then if you're running to run this with a PC or some sort of computer interface, maybe even your phone, you can filter for a digital interface as well.

Or if you're looking to do certain digital voice modes like DMR, DSTAR, or Yaesu system fusion, there's a filter criteria for that as well.

Okay, so there are really a bunch of ways you can slice and dice this and narrow it down.

I've played around in the tool as well and it really is wonderful how you can narrow things down to just what it works for your situation.

So you gotta choose which radio you want, uh, to, uh, connect to the repeater.

So it's no good buying a fusion radio if you've got a DMR repeater.

In fairness, they just don't talk natively to each other.

Now, as I say, looking around the UK, the, the, and possibly around the world as well, there are D-Star repeaters, there are Yaesu Fusion repeaters, and there are DMR repeaters, and that doesn't stop there.

Various modes go in as well.

However, they're the three main common modes that you're gonna find.

So once built, you install the card into the Raspberry Pi.

Uh, you will potentially need a monitor to connect to the Raspberry Pi to see what's going on, although you could get away without one if you're clever enough.

So that's Yaesu's approach.

There's also DMR, which is digital mobile radio.

That was developed by Motorola for business, but lots of hams use it.

And there are radios out there that do DMR, so you might see repeaters around that are DMR repeaters.

You need a radio that does DMR to access those.

And another one that might not be as common is DSTAR.

DSTAR is a digital mode that's been around probably since the late 1990s.

If you're in a club, ask some of the guys what's popular in your area, and that might give you a better idea of what radio you might want to get.
