Dighton

And this program is available at every city and town in the state of Massachusetts.

So it doesn't matter if you live in Dighton or if you live in Fairhaven or if you live in Bellingham.

It is available everywhere and strongly encourage people if you don't want to come in.

Agencies such as PACE and CFC do have people come in and we see people face-to-face still.

And we should mention, because we haven't mentioned it yet, all of these events are going to be available on our website at onesouthcoast.com slash southcoastscoop.

Okay, let's go to Dighton.

They've got a trunk or treat going on.

It's their third annual at 123 Williams Street, October 23rd, 6 to 8 p.m. It's free to the public.

Spooky.

Yeah.

Staying in Dighton, we'll go over to Dighton Lions Club Arts Festival on October 11th from 9am to 3pm.

The mission of the Dighton Lions Club Arts Festival is to provide a place where local and regional artists and crafters can display and sell their work in a family-oriented environment.

So there was a plausible theory developing that Nancy never really made it out of Rumford that afternoon, but other witnesses began putting her somewhere else entirely.

A storekeeper in Dighton, Massachusetts said he recognized Nancy from her photograph.

He said a woman matching her description came into his store between 5:00 and 6:00 Friday evening, bought cigarettes, and asked for directions to New Bedford.

She was driving a two-toned car.

Now investigators had a problem.

If the boys in Rumford had seen Nancy at 2:00, then the reservoir and surrounding woods looked very important.

But if the later sightings in Dighton and Dartmouth were really Nancy, then she had apparently been alive hours later and miles away in Massachusetts.

While investigators tried to figure out which witnesses had actually seen Nancy, they were also taking a harder look at the people closest to her.
