Digging Up the Marrow

So it more than made up for its money.

Director and writer Adam Green, we have talked about over and over again the last several weeks, but he's done Hatchet, Spiral, Frozen, Hatchet 2, a part of Chillerama, Digging Up the Marrow, and then a comedy series called Holliston.

He also wrote most of those as well as Hatchet 3.

He's also the lead singer for the band, like the rock metal band called Haddonfield, which gets a name drop in this movie, if I'm not mistaken.

I haven't heard any of their stuff, but I want to check it out now.

Producer Sarah Elbert, she has also been the producer on Hatchets 1, 2, and 3, as well as the Holliston Horror Comedy Show.

Producer Corey Neal comes back from Hatchets Spiral, Frozen, Chilorama, Hatchet 3, and Digging Up the Marrow.

The composers on this one, we have a couple.

It's also produced by Sarah Elbert.

The cinematography is again done by Will Barrett, who had done the cinematography for Hatchet, Spiral, Frozen, Hatchet 2, Chilleraama, Digging Up the Marrow, Glowzies, et cetera, et cetera.

It's edited by Ed Marx, who was the editor on Jeepers Creepers and Jeepers Creepers 2, as well as an '06 horror film called The Plague, Wrong Turn 2, The Butterfly Effect 3, Frozen, Hatchet 2, Chilleraama, Rites of Spring from 2011, Zombeavers- Wow ... and, uh, and then something called Gator Face from 2026.

Hmm.

That's right.

And then he gets to direct.

Uh, Adam Green, speaking of, was the writer and producer for Hatchet, Spiral, Frozen, Hatchet II, Chillorama, The Diary of Anne Frankenstein, that segment, Digging Up the Marrow, which I actually watched the other day, and Victor Crowley, which we are talking about next week.

The other producer, Sarah Elbert, she was the producer on all of the Hatchet films and Victor Crowley, as well as Adam Green's comedy series, Holliston.

That was wild.

Um, we watched Digging Up the Marrow, the Colby's House.

Yes.

Woo-hoo.

Um, it is produced by Derek Curl, Corey Neal, and Sarah Elbert.

The cinematography is again done by Will Barratt, who had done the cinematography for Coffee and Donuts, Spiral from '07, Frozen from 2010, uh, Hatchet, Chillorama, Hatchet 3, Digging Up the Marrow, It Watches, Glowzies from 2023, um, and then Skill House from 2025.

And it is edited by Ed Marx, who was the editor on both Jeepers Creepers and Jeepers Creepers 2.

Oh, okay.

Uh, Frozen.

He did, uh, a segment of Chillorama called The Diary of Anne Frankenstein.

He would later do Digging Up the Marrow in 2014, and then he follows all that up with Victor Crowley eventually, and he wrote all of those things plus Hatchet III.

Uh, producer Derek Curl is also the producer on The House of the Devil from '09.

Followed by number 14, Day of the Dead, George Romero's 1985 classic.

And then at number 15, we have Digging Up the Marrow, and Kaylin says, "While this movie isn't filmed in traditional movie style and is filmed more like a documentary, this film's quite scary.

The fact that it's filmed documentary style makes the movie 10 times scarier.

The monsters are very freaky." And this film leaves you unable to guess what will happen next.

[laughs]

Digging Up the Marrow from 2014, It Watches from 2016, and then a movie that I've mentioned once before, I can't remember what it was or what the connection was, but a movie called Glowzies, which came out in 2023.

It's another one of these kind of, like, throwback-y, schlock-y, kind of f- like almost a send-up to, like, '50s, uh, uh, toxic waste zombie sort of movie.

Oh, okay.

Uh, [laughs] he did-

... good, I guess

... a horror movie in 2014 called Digging Up the Marrow.

Uh, and then he would return to this franchise with Victor Crowley in 2017, as well as writing everything that I just listed and Hatchet 3.
