JoeGUEST
Now, I mean, you probably I probably know the answer to this.
JoeGUEST
But anyways, did you encounter Banjo before Banjo Kazooie and Diddy Kong Racing?
SamHOST
Absolutely.
SamHOST
I had that game.
Joe WakefieldHOST
All right, man.
Joe WakefieldHOST
Diddy Kong Racing.
Joe WakefieldHOST
I remember Diddy Kong Racing.
Joe WakefieldHOST
Dude, that was a great game.
Joe WakefieldHOST
That should have been Mario Kart.
Ryan LangHOST
That was awesome.
Ryan LangHOST
I have no comment.
Ryan LangHOST
Diddy Kong racing is awesome.
ZachHOST
Yeah, where Banjo's first appearance was.
ZachHOST
No. Diddy Kong Racing.
ZachHOST
I'm not surprised by that.
ZachHOST
Not surprised by that.
ZachHOST
Conker also got one of his first starts in Diddy Kong Racing.
BrockHOST
Yeah.
BrockHOST
Brilliant game.
DermieHOST
Let's adjust this light so I can read my writing.
DermieHOST
The Dreamcast right now, the games being ported to it are World of Warcraft, Tekken Tag Tournament, Super Smash Bros., Diddy Kong Racing, Sonic Mania, Sonic CD, Star Wars Trilogy Arcade, which has never appeared anywhere.
DermieHOST
Bellatro.
Jason A. CallaghanHOST
Bellatro doesn't take much.
Hyle RussellHOST
Did you see that story?
David Thomas LynchHOST
I paid 49.99 plus tax for Diddy Kong Racing back in the day.
Hyle RussellHOST
Yeah.
Hyle RussellHOST
[laughs] Right.
51 MINS LATER
Hyle RussellHOST
I encountered this one twice, like, across the, the gulf of years.
Hyle RussellHOST
TeeTee.
Hyle RussellHOST
Now this probably isn't a reference to everyone's favorite racing stopwatch from off of Diddy Kong Racing and sort of Sea of Thieves, but still it made me upset that I saw TeeTee in Mario Kart Tour before I actually saw him in Sea of Thieves.
David Thomas LynchHOST
Perhaps it's Trophy Thomas from off of Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts.
J-ChipGUEST
This is my second time playing it all the way through, getting the 100%.
J-ChipGUEST
I played the entire trilogy last year because I had a friend who was on the cartridge club, Nathan Harsh, if you remember the Diddy Kong Racing one.
J-ChipGUEST
He was like, yo, you should review Jack 3.
J-ChipGUEST
And I've never played Jack 1 or 2.
Gerard FortuneHOST
Did we?
Shannon MackGUEST
Diddy Kong Racing.
Gerard FortuneHOST
Diddy Kong
Shannon MackGUEST
Racing.
Shannon MackGUEST
If you think about it, every time I thought about Diddy Kong Racing, when you started up, it just sounded...
Shannon MackGUEST
It sounded way too funny.
Shannon MackGUEST
I have a friend.
Gerard FortuneHOST
He's a Diddy Kong.
TylerHOST
I'm sure I'll get it.
TylerHOST
Um, then like I said, they had the, some of the rare developers that were there, and the one guy was there who worked on Diddy Kong Racing.
TylerHOST
Diddy Kong Racing, the all-star, all-known better kart racer on the Nintendo 64 than, um, Mario Kart 64.
TylerHOST
And yeah, so I got him to sign my copy.
CraigHOST
Hell yeah.
DeucyHOST
[laughs] He, like, he took off.
DeucyHOST
It felt like the first time you race Tricky the Dino in Diddy Kong Racing.
DonnyHOST
Uh-huh.
DeucyHOST
He just, like, is gone off the screen, and any time you might get close to him, he lays a landmine and just blows you off the t-
OR3OHOST
Um, the other weird, weird thing is the three types of vehicles that it makes you drive, those, at least it feels like, maybe I haven't played enough to prove this, but it feels like you can pick any of those, and they're all in the same race.
OR3OHOST
Kind of like, you remember Diddy Kong Racing or, uh, I guess Mario Kart racing, where, like, you can have the bikes or you can have the karts, and they handle a little bit differently and one is, like, a little bit faster.
OR3OHOST
That's kinda what these three vehicles feel like.
OR3OHOST
Um, so the boat, I hated it.
