Uh, and San Jose State for the sixth straight time, uh, in this, uh, Dick Tomey Legacy Trophy rivalry, uh, they come away with the victory, and it was not, I think, what a lot of people anticipated it to be, this shootout.

Uh, it was a pretty low [laughs] scoring affair, and, uh, Hawaii with a lot of self-inflicted wounds, uh, really kinda got in their own way through penalties, a lot of pre-snap penalties.

Um, there were some questionable decisions.

Well, we tried to do that, uh, if you recall, uh, when Norm Chow was here, and I think the issue with that, and a little bit during, uh, the Todd Graham, at least a little bit more of a pro style or some, some pro style concepts, but, uh, the problem with the pro style offense is- Uh, that is often predicated on each guy across every position sort of winning their own battle.

And yes, it's easy to sort of say, "Okay, that's basic football." Um, but if you look at the stretches of the most success that this program in its history have ever achieved, uh, it has been when they have run unconventional offenses, right? We- whether it was the spread option under Paul Johnson, utilized during, you know, the Bob Wagner, going back to the Dick Tomey, uh, era, uh, or when they have run the run and shoot, and they have been, quote-unquote, "unconventional offenses".

And also, it should be stated that the run and shoot is probably closer [laughs] to a more conventional offense as it currently stands in college football, uh, because of how heavily air raid concepts have now been, uh, adopted across, across the board.

It's a unique game.

And we should mention, of course, the Dick Tomey legacy game.
