which i can i can even understand that but yeah it was the the four main girls like they're kind of assholes you know like the stuff that they're doing and it's I think it's just a problem with underdeveloping of the ideas throughout the entire movie like I think the excuse would be hey it's just a light comedy who cares but that's the problem like looking at that really is a thing like you would have to just not care at all about the characters not care at all about what they're doing in order to excuse a lot of the things that are going on and because of that you don't care about the plight of the characters especially the character of Coco who really comes off as a vicious bitch throughout the entire movie especially towards her partner's new girlfriend Margaret who's played by Diana Glenn who Coco consistently throughout the entire movie is talking about how old she is and how oh she's ancient yeah and all like all the gags about that are just they all fall short none of them are really funny and it's not even a situation like say in the uh the the uh adam sandler movie big daddy where his girlfriend leaves him for an older guy and it is a much older guy and he makes a couple of jokes and that's it it's something that goes throughout the entire movie.

And it was a while before I even realized that the actress that was playing the girlfriend, because of how she's lit and she was only in two scenes early on.

And then later on in the film, it was a while until I realized that it was Diana Glenn.

And it was like, man, there's no world in which the character of Coco can throw shade at Diana Glenn, like no matter what it is.

Like I said, the other characters of Sophie and Jane, particularly Jane with Leslie Mann's character, basically the arc that she has throughout the movie is that she learns to just say, oh, screw my kids and screw my father.

I need to take care of myself.

She has directed more than 20 new productions for major companies, including Sydney Theatre Company and Melbourne Theatre Company, with recent highlights including Break of Day by Stevie Rogers for Malthouse Theatre, The Talented Mr Ripley for Sydney Theatre Company, Julia by Joanna Murray-Smith starring Justine Clark, and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, which sold out in Melbourne before touring to Sydney.

In 2025, she started Jacaranda Productions with actor-producer Diana Glenn after they met at AFTRS, the Australian Film, Television and Radio School.

Their goal? To create multi-medium stories by finding ideas that start in theatre and developing them into TV, film and online productions, and vice versa.

They launched with Amplified, the exquisite rock and rage of Chrissy Amflit, which toured nationally, and are in post-production for Coltrane, a noir VR project with New Canvas.

And I think you are in film and screen too, but you're able to have more control over that and you're able to tell a far more kind of psychological journey just by having a close-up of the face and the eyes.

So I think, but in terms of, you know, performance and world building they're very similar but in a weird way it's like you know back in the day you know when you had to do film photography you had to really know your subject and your light before you got that photo right whereas now with digital you can shoot shoot shoot shoot till you get it and I think the the craft of theatre makes you really study the subject of the play of the performance in a lot of depth because then you have to capture it and repeat it whereas in film you can put all the elements there but the performance really you're just looking for that one take that's going to capture it.

Now two Jacaranda productions so you started in 2025 production company with Diana Glenn as you said but how did it actually come about?

Well, Diana and I have been friends for years and we've worked together.
