I'm very excited to welcome Emma to share her stories with us today.

I mean, just like Karina, I also found this quite challenging, but it was a good activity to go through.

So my name is Leon and my pronouns are he, him, I grew up on the lands of the Garigal or the Karigal clans who were part of the coastal Darug or Roa nation.

When I grew up, I actually knew it by a different land name.

And it was only yesterday when I was kind of looking through this that I found out that there's a different kind of name for it now.

The ones that make you wonder how you got here and those that make you realise you're exactly where you should be.

This podcast is produced on Darug and Gundungurra country, land that has been the home of mothering and storytelling for tens of thousands of years.

We acknowledge and pay our respects to the Darug and Gundungurra elders, past, present and emerging, as the traditional custodians of this land.

Can you start us off by telling us who is in your family?

So as soon as I meet my team and my group and we're about to head off, I, of course, do an Indigenous acknowledgement.

You know, we are on Darug and Gundungurra land here in the Blue Mountains.

I then explain where we're going to be walking and the pace.

So something just nice and easy.

This Forgotten Australia miniseries was originally released in 2021.

Today we're heading to the capital city of New South Wales, Sydney.

The centre of the city is on Gadigal land and the greater Sydney region stretches from mountain ranges on Darug land to Goringai land at the sandy coast.

There are more than 20 clans that make up the place now known as Sydney.
