Dhammadinna

This is another description of how to be like water, how to practice with the mystery of water, and how to make choices that are meaningful in our lives.

So Dhammadinna.

Dhammadinna is one of the early Buddhist nuns, and the poem that I'll read you in a moment is, uh, also from the Therigatha that I read f- the poem of, uh, Mahapajapati.

Remember, I know you all.

She was the Buddha's aunt who raised him.

So Dhammadinna wasn't as famous as Mahapajapati in the bhikkhuni sangha, but she was another awakened nun, and her story is very interesting.

She had a very privileged life and was living with her husband, whose name was Vasaakha.

And Vasaakha and she were lay disciples of the Buddha, and her husband grow, became so taken with the Buddha's teachings that he decided that he would go and ordain, renounce the world, and join the holy life and become a bhikkhu, a monk.
