DF-21

Now, up till very recently, even the kind of bulls, the anti-shipping missile bulls, would say, yeah, we only really know of one anti-shipping ballistic missile in particular.

That's the Dong Feng 21D missile.

It's a ballistic missile, medium range, that has terminal guidance, radar, and I think infrared.

And the Russians claim to have some sort of a Zircon missile that can do something similar, although that may be a Scrambler-powered cruise, I can't remember.

And we are looking at long ranges.

You know, if you look at the Chinese similar ballistic missile, you know, DF-21, that is 2000 kilometers.

So we are certainly looking at the one that was fired around 1000 kilometers.

So fired by the Aerospace Force, as I said.

He didn't say the first part, but it was just to get the United States attention.

He said they confirmed they shot the Qasem Basir missile, which is the Iranian version of the Chinese DF-21 ship killer.

Same kind that was fired at that tanker off of Yemen a week ago that sank that Saudi tanker.

He said they did fire it just to test it against the United States.

It was a Saudi VLCC going up to the Suez max, uh, Suez Med pipeline, and it was gonna go through the Su- and, uh, pick up the oil, go around Africa.

The Yemenis hit it with a DF-21 anti-ship ballistic missile, and it struck the ship, okay? We don't know whether the ship was sunk or not, but we do know it was hit.

The missile's flight range from Hudaydah, where it was launched, was 1,076 kilometers, about 700 miles.

It flew into space, came down, and its seeker found that ship at that point in latitude and longitude and hit it.
