I have been very interested in the early 60s.

It really was Dexter Gordon, the return of Dexter Gordon, his Blue Notes.

I loved that and I loved him when he came to London through the old Ronnie Scott's Club in the basement on Gerrard Street.

In 67, I

Freddie Hubbard was a member of the finishing school of jazz, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers.

I mean, I met a drummer who would go on to play with the jazz saxophone player Dexter Gordon.

There was a saxophone player in prison who also played on the outside with Ray Charles.

And I think part of this history that I came to learn was that in the 70s and 80s, you know, a lot of struggling musicians would turn to drugs either as users or as dealers to kind of fund their early careers.
