What an era.

And just seeing the bowling, Devon Malcolm, Chris Lewis, Tim Munton Who went for a few on your first game, but then I think you settled into it, 'cause after that y- your figures weren't bad at all.

Your debut was 30 overs.

But then again, I think everyone went for a few runs looking at it.

I'd just like to extend my condolences to everyone, particularly family of Steve Barwick, but all those, uh, associates of Steve and people who've known him over the years.

I first watched him play in the early '80s for Glamorgan against Derbyshire, and I actually remember his final game against Derbyshire in 1995 when Devon Malcolm hit a six off the last ball to, uh, take Derbyshire to a one-wicket victory in a one-day game.

But Steve Barwick was one of those kind of cricketers that I think most county fans can get behind because we all identify, of course, with the great players, whether it's our England international cricketers or those that came from overseas and still do, and lighten our game up, and particularly as they did in the last quarter of the 20th century.

Some of the greatest players of all time were taking part in our wonderful game.

Now, do you know what that reminds me of? Uh, I think it was Brian McMillan at The Oval.

I don't think it was Anton a bowler bouncer at Devon Malcolm.

Do you remember this? This is 35 years ago.

And Devon Malcolm had sort of ducked, and I think it brushed his shoulder, and he just went, "You guys are history." Do you remember this?

Um, and I was fit again, I got 100 at Chesterfield, um, against a fast bowling attack of Devon Malcolm and about four others that Derby always had.
