I like all kinds of things.

I like Devo and I like John Philip Sousa.

Yeah, the Deluxe had the pop-up headlight, and that's the one that everybody wants because of Devo.

And

the Kenwood stereo.

So I had a number of phone calls with Rick Carroll that night you know, asking me for suggestions for rock blocks.

Oh, let's do a Devo rock block.

Let's do NXS.

Let's do a Gang of Four, you know, and then just spend an hour putting together the logs for the weekend.

I didn't even need to look at 106.7. You just dial it and you knew the minute the type of music they're playing or who was talking like, oh, there it is.

There's K-Rock.

I can't remember which Devo album it was back then, but Jed was out of his mind, crazy about Devo.

He was playing four or five tracks from the new album one afternoon, just over and over and over again.

People would probably still buy it.

Yeah, you know, I mean, Devo did that.

They put out a greatest hits record.

Mm-hmm.

And the Greatest Misses record was actually better.

I didn't expect Shahid to get a point, but I didn't, like, I would have expected Devo to get a little more than him.

And projections are always funny.

They can obviously always change, always move around, always do stuff.

So as it should be, the soundtrack is a big part of why the movie feels so locked into its moments.

You get songs from the cars, the police, Devo, Oingo Boingo, U2, the human human league and much more which I think gives the whole thing that perfect early 80s mall radio glow the movie made about 5.8 million dollars in the states so it wasn't a giant hit but it became one of those titles that people remembered because of the ending it's the kind of movie somebody would recommend with a weird little warning attached like just keep watching you'll see and for Canon this was an early reminder that the studio could stumble into something more lasting than pure exploitation because this starts like a teen party movie and it ends like a tyson punch to the gut and that turn is exactly why people still remember it now from teenage heartbreak we're jumping into something much bigger and somehow even messier because only canon films could go from pizza delivery romance to the man of steel trying to stop a nuclear war while the budget's pulling a dine and dash on its production

Effective immediately, I'm going to rid our planet of all nuclear weapons.
