Devin West

And the reason I actually was being serious with the RB2 talk is, well, because as everybody's been pointing out, Jamal Roberts is on quite a pace here in terms of carries.

In fact, through the first six games in Missouri history, only Joe Moore in 1969 and Devin West in 1998 have had more carries through the first half of a season for the Missouri Tigers.

Through six games to be exact.

I suppose it wasn't half of a season back in '69, but you get my point here.

Just two behind Joe Moore's 149 carries in 1969.

Devin West actually had 166 carries in the first six seasons of 1998.

So on one hand, that may make some of you a little bit nervous.

And I can understand why.

Roberts obviously on... on a kind of pace we haven't seen in over 20-plus years, that type of deal, since Devin West 28 years ago, that type of thing.

On the other hand, there's another way to look at it.

Devin West and Joe Moore both made it through those seasons unscathed.

And also, those were two tremendous Missouri seasons, by the way.

Third down five.

The pitch is to Devin West.

He's got the first down.

Myron Terry made the stop.

Colorado State comes in here with the plan of taking the ball away from Corby Jones.

Make him pitch it.

Well, that's okay, except when you pitch it to Devin West and he makes a play like this, it kind of makes you rethink that strategy.

Corby Jones is going to give up the ball quickly here, but Devin West is 215 pounds and has great speed.
