Devil in a Blue Dress

Hello, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of We Bought a Mic, a podcast about You Can See Everything, the new documentary film from Nathan Fielder.

and Lance Oppenheim about one Elizabeth Holmes, disgraced founder of Theranos.

A bit of a sensation right now in the theaters.

Our girl Amanda Seyfried actually weighing an Emmy for it.

There was the Jennifer Lawrence, Adam McKay project that was canceled because apparently Jennifer Lawrence watched the dropout and said, I'm not going to do anything better than that.

Um, so now here comes this film and again, we're, we're going into this movie, I think Collectively, between the three of us, confidently, I can say we are experts on Nathan Fielder.

I think if you combine our knowledge together, we not only appreciate and consume this guy's work, but we have studied and analyzed him like if you go back to the archives of this podcast when we first started doing this almost 10 years ago i was watching nathan for you

as it was coming out i think the episode that we really tackled nathan for you is probably the most annoying i've ever been in a recording if i were to you know what it ended when it was the amount of notes i had prepped Insane.

Carl Franklin.

Carl Franklin would be absolutely the director of Devil in a Blue Dress, who actually directed some excellent episodes of Mindhunter in its third season, I believe.

Yeah,

absolutely.

It worked out for Don Cheadle.

Oh, I mean, you know, I saw him in colors and then I saw him in Devil in a Blue Dress.

And he was spectacular in Devil in a Blue Dress.

And, you know, he has one of my favorite lines in that movie, which is, if you didn't want him dead, why'd you leave him with me?

Can I just say, because I know that producers listen to public radio in New York and Los Angeles, can I just say there are Walter Mosley books where Easy Rollins is very old.

So there's no time that's too late.

To bring back Denzel and Don Cheadle from more Devil in a Blue Dress movies.

Absolutely not.

american gangster wow 2007.

What's our next film in the series? Uh, devil in a blue dress.

Hmm.

Uh, better.

Yep.

Um, you have books out young adult books.

So if any of y'all have young adults at home or in your classes, the Ethan Fairmont trilogy, the promise boys, 2023, uh, up in smoke, 2025.

And what's the name of the Marvel comics joint you were on?

Wow.

Wow.

I mean, you know, not as early as DMX, but later on as, you know, when I get into like middle school and stuff, right? When I'm starting to really pick up chapter books and read books.

But, you know, some of the younger stuff wasn't really grabbing my attention.

We are moving on.

Your next pick is the 6C, Devil in a Blue Dress.

Up against the seventh seed of Desperado.

Natalie, we're going to start this one with you.

Okay.

Sorry, I'm still just breathing a sigh of relief after what happened in the last vote.

So let me get my head into Desperado versus Devil in a Blue Dress.

They're probably... again, quite difficult to pin against each other because they're sort of similar in some ways, but quite different in other ways.
