Deva Mahal

Ua tetania tou fe'a.

Okay, here we are, Silver Scrolls, Deva Mahal.

Hey, what's up?

Hi.

Um, who else did we hear from? LEAO, of course, with La Le Lei.

Uh, their track was performed by A.R.T., uh, and an amazing backing band.

Uh, and then finally, Deva Mahal, uh, with Someone's Daughter, which was performed by Lisa Tomlins and an incredible band, Lani Perkins, Tom Healy, Jessie Booth, Te Ada Kelly, and Scotty Pearson.

Wow.

And you come from a very musical family.

Taj Mahal, Diva Mahal's your sister.

Yeah.

How do you think that impacts your career and the music that you do and how it comes through in your performances?

And with Diva, me and Diva have a very unique relationship because, you know, there is a bit of an age gap, but we've gone through a season of like a level of her really being like a sort of second person.

parent to me.

And then we've gone through a season of her being, you know, very much my big sister who's showing me how to do this and showing me how to do that and inviting me to this space and creating opportunities for me all around the world.

Amazing.
