Verily these two vessels of greatness arose to be on each side of the horse.

as a stallion the gandharvas as a rana the asuras as a houseman the sea is its kin the sea is its birthplace second brahmana in the beginning there was nothing to be perceived here whatsoever by death indeed all this was concealed by hunger for death is hunger death the first being thought let me have a body then he moved about worshipping from him thus worshipping water was produced and he said verily there appeared to me while i worshipped arkate water ka This is why water is called Arka.

Surely there is water or pleasure for him who thus knows the reason why water is called Arka.

Death is his self.

He becomes one of those deities.

Third Brahmana There were two kinds of descendants of Prajapati, the Devas and the Asuras.

Now the Devas were indeed the younger, the Asuras the elder ones.

And we'll start with the pursuit of Amrita.

So the story begins because these battles are going on between the Devas and the Asuras endlessly.

But the Devas keep losing because they keep being killed.

Because the truth about Deva and Asura principle is the Asuras are stronger.

In other words, your desire to scroll social media or to watch a good movie or to eat pizza is always going to be stronger than your desire to go to bed by 9.30.

So in this story, the Asuras keep winning and the Devas keep dying.

And so the Devas go to Vishnu, who is the supreme upholder of the cosmic order.

And they say, we need your help.

He becomes one of those deities.

The Devas who were struggling in these worlds said, Well, let us overcome the Asuras at the sacrifices, the Jyotishthoma by means of the Udgita.

They said to speech, Vak, do thou sing out for us the Ud Gita? Yes, said the speech, and sang the Ud Gita.

Whatever delight there is in speech, that she obtained for the Devas by singing the three Pavamanas.

but that she pronounced well in the other nine Parvamanas, that was for herself.

The Asuras knew, verily through this singer they will overcome us.

O You who are the Soul of everything! Who is capable of extolling You? Eternal and imperishable One! You are the embodiment of the sacred Word.

You are the Savitra and the Supreme Mother of the Devas.

By You this universe is born, by You this world is created, by You it is protected, O Devi! and You always consume it at the end.

O You who are always of the form of the whole world! At the time of the sustention, You are of the form of the protective Power, and at the time of the dissolution of the world, You are of the form of the destructive Power.
