Descender

This one here, Crowbound, number one, from two of my favorite creators.

They did such work as Descender.

Yeah.

In Ascender.

You disgust me.

I still remember

that you haven't read Descender.

And these two guys have, uh, worked on stuff in the past.

They worked on "Ascender" together and "Descender", I guess.

Um, so I don't know if this "Crowbound" series is related to those works, part of that Jeff Lemire universe or whatever, or not.

Um, it didn't seem to matter 'cause it was definitely a self-contained story.

Completely agree.

If it wasn't for the fact that Descender exists, I would say this is their most ambitious project yet, and it might still get there like this there's so many interesting ideas that have been laid the uh the groundwork has been laid for in just this first issue um i don't know where this is going from here but i am so intrigued and it's these two both of these creators are fantastic and they work extremely well together um i don't know if this is co-writers or how co-creators how it's listed here but whatever magic these two work together it's uh it's still here and i can't wait for more And for something completely different, we also had this week the Tales of Wonder.

But yes, these two have worked on many a book together.

Descender?

Yes, Descender, Little Vampires.

Yeah, just a bunch.

They just have a very solid writer-artist relationship here.

Dun, dun, dun.

So this is the team that did Descender and Ascender.

So you know that you're already in for quality.

I don't have to describe Dustin Nguyen's artwork to you.

I don't think you should need more than the duo of Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen to pick up a number one, personally.

Um, reading Ascender and Descender was, like, one of my favorite comic experiences.

I, like, cannot wait to buy them in hardcover.

Um, and this is, as opposed to, like, a sci-fi, a fantasy from the two of them.

Given the size of the universe and the genetic diversity that must be present among the varying species of the cosmos, what is the likelihood of two races encountering each other and being compatible enough to even facilitate the initial interaction? So when it comes to interspecies cooperation, I think that it's easier when these two species share an evolutionary tract like humans do with every other species on the planet than when it's two species coming from different planets light-years away from each other.

The next question comes from James Donohoe: "Which comic series or graphic novel series would you be interested in covering? I'd love to hear your thoughts on something like The Invisibles or Alan Moore's Top 10." Well, actually, I've been considering covering Descender by Dustin Nguyen.

I think it is a great series of graphic novels, and nobody has been talking about it.

I, I, I have not seen anybody talk about it, and I think it is great science fiction.
