Derry Watkins

I haven't grown petunia excerta in the garden here for several years, but it's a self-sown seedling.

It came from Derry Watkins, and it has vibrant red flowers.

It grows in shade in its native South America, where it comes from, and it's pollinated by hummingbirds.

And my plant is growing in shade, and I just saw this flash of red and I thought, "I don't believe it." And yes, it is, it's a, uh, petunia excerta.
