Derrick Williams

Like you brought him in cause he's explosive and he can take defenders off the dribble and he can be something that you've not really had at that position before.

in, I don't know, like, since Derek Williams or something.

You know, like, he is a freak athlete that I think if he meshes with all the other pieces they're trying to mesh, like, brand-new LaMelo, more Io, still incentivizing Ant, I think it could work out really well.

I've probably been too pessimistic about it, so that's on me.

Irving was not a no-doubt number one pick.

Derrick Williams was also getting consideration.

But he was clearly the most talented player in his draft.

And he did nothing but prove the Cavs right after becoming a Cavalier, making numerous All-Star games.

Just everything was a mess back then.

And they were whiffing on the second pick and Derek Williams.

They, um, Couldn't really get a – they couldn't attract any veterans here.

So it was a young team that lacked a good development staff.

Okay.

Derrick Williams, Carlos Boozer, James Harden.

Okay.

Okay.

But you got some guys that been out the league for a long time.

All right? Derrick Williams been out the league for a while.

Enes, I don't even wanna mention his name, man.

That dude is-

This is vastly different, Ant has never played with a point guard like LaMelo Ball.

And now to have this level of athleticism, I mean, Kat's really athletic for seven feet and Julius, but Jonathan Kuminga reminds me of the most athletic weird three-four they've had since Derrick Williams.

You know what I mean?

Yeah.

I was doing a video where I talked about Derek Williams being kind of an undersized power forward who couldn't shoot and couldn't guard the power forwards of the past of the bigger power forward so kind of find himself out of the league I almost think that Kaminga is kind of like Derek Williams but I think the difference is he's not going to be called on to do as much as you're expecting a number two pick overall to do and I think he could fit in well if he's just a bruiser banging off people and getting to the lane and creating offense for himself and like I said decent passer and others I think it could be a tremendous move for Tim Connolly.

I think this could be a major, major win.

And, man, I'm so excited for this.
