I thought that was odd.

When you go over to the British Association of Dermatologists website, they do actually address the question, what causes keratosis pilaris? And their answer is, we do not fully understand the cause of KP, but it appears to be associated with certain genes.

Keratosis pilaris is harmless and is not infectious.

And I agree with all that.

The Department of Health says the government is concerned about the pace with which specialist fees are increasing.

Dermatologists charged the highest amount above the benchmark for out-of-hospital services.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, obstetricians, gynaecologists... and sports and exercise specialists followed.

So Mark Butler, the Federal Health Minister, trying to do something about that.

I'm not going to sugarcoat that, but there are things we can do to help our hair along, no matter where you are in your hair journey.

Now, I do want to just say, if you are struggling with hair loss, the best thing you can do is not to suffer in silence and to talk to your dermatologist about this.

Dermatologists are the experts in skin, hair, and nails.

And And if you have a hair condition that is scarring, we want to address this aggressively and quickly.

And that is why it is so important not to just DIY it at home, to actually get in, have an evaluation so that we can figure out why you are having hair loss and if it's something that's reversible.

My entire bathroom counter rejects this.

Dermatologists are rejecting, and they're, they're saying that this is bacteria maxing.

Oh, you, you-

That you're basically spreading your bacteria by not showering-

That's pretty, pretty widely accepted.

Maybe not by dermatologists.

Dermatologists still believe that everything is fucking surface level.

And that's just really unfortunate.

But at least within the functional health realm, I think many people do understand at this point that acne is very much a gut issue.

You need at least three months.

That's the advice from NICE, from the British Association of Dermatologists.

You need a three-month course to see if these drugs are doing their job.

And if they are working and helping with the regularity of spots, then I would normally recommend to people, you know, take it for six, max nine months.

So there have historically since the 80s, there have been sort of black triangle warnings, so where potential side effects are flagged back up to the drug companies and to the safety agencies as to whether isotretinoin was having a detrimental effect on people's mental health, which is clearly something you want to take incredibly seriously.

And I think that was one of the things that generated the MHRA review.

And they have then reviewed further evidence, which was gathered by the British Association of Dermatologists and also some big sort of meta-analyses of available data and things like that.

And they've now, based on that, based on that evidence, they've now reduced the reduce the amount of paperwork that's involved in the prescribing of vasotretinoin and reduce the amount of safeguards.

She's also the UK's go-to doctor for everything skin, hair, and nails.

Hair transplants are expensive, and we're seeing a lot of people going abroad to have hair transplants done, but-

And then I came across your social media and I've just been, like, obsessed since.

So I know that you are doing so much more on than social media.

You are a dermatologist.

So I'd love to understand why you got into that space, because I...

Yeah, thank you very much.

That was super, and we're all going to need to kind of learn as this hopefully moves into practice relatively soon, and I think it's fair to say the rash has gotten people a little frightened, but I think there is a lot we can do, and the paradigms for approaching this in the clinic will evolve, and just keeping that in mind and Dermatologists have become our best friends.

And I would make one other comment

that though the rash is quite unsightly, patients are very motivated when they see responses.
