Derek Luke

Directed by-

Derek Luke.

Like-

Philip Noyce, Derek Luke.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Um, there were a few...

Uh, was this Derek Luke's first movie, or was he in anything prior to that?

No, I don't think it's his first movie, no.

Okay.

I'm like, "Goddamn.

This is fucked up." Um, all right, Micah, what did you think of this movie?

Uh, just, uh, uh, this was, uh, Derek Luke's first movie, just-

His first movie, yes

I

know that he did get, I know he had your framed Vegas marquee in his house, right? And I know that, which I also know which is wild is that I think you were on set with Ryan Reynolds and a guy named Derek Luke found out, when you found out that he had cancer and he was the guy, a stranger comforted you, right?

That was the kindest moment of humanity God ever said, there's good in the world to me.

I'm on the set, I get a call from my brother and we're shooting in New York.

We're ready for you.

I walk out.

And it's the stage manager and Derek Luke, the actor.

And my face is all white.

No, he's being interviewed.

Is it Michael Pena or Derek Luke? It's one of them.

Or is it a woman? I can't remember.

He's like a congressman being interviewed.

[laughs]

[laughs] Uh, Derrick Luke's best movie.

Um, Friday Night Lights.

I might take Friday Night Lights too-

It's based on H.G. Basinger's nonfiction book about the real-life 1988 Permian Panthers.

The cast has Billy Bob Thornton, Derek Luke, Lucas Black, Garrett Hilland, Jay Hernandez, Lee Jackson, and Cotton Britton.

And yes, Connie Britton would eventually become one of the defining faces of television adaptation.

Special features include the DVD action-packed deleted scenes, Peter Berg discusses the scene, player cam, Tim McGraw offstage, the story of the 1988 Permian Panthers.

We had Tommy Lee Jones.

Stanley Tucci, Neil McDonough, Derek Luke from the Howard University.

Gotta shout that out with me going to, been going out, checking out HBCUs here lately.

Like Hillman is coming.

Like, Hey, we all like, so I had to throw that out.

So it's just dope to see.

I would have, would have, would have, would have very much so loved if they would have made Derek Luke's character, Isaiah Bradley.

Because if they ever did another thing with that character, that would have been fire.

Uh-

...

Derek Luke.

Antoine Fisher, there you go.

Yeah.

There we go.

Let's go Biker Boyz.
