Denzel Perryman

Their main linebacker, Dan Henley, he's not covering very well, unfortunately.

Denzel Perryman is out.

So their next linebacker option is Delshawn Phillips, and he's a special teams player.

Good against the run, ain't much of a guy in coverage.

And I even wonder with teams that like, maybe thought they were going to be competitive, like the Chargers.

Like, okay, could you try to steal one of their linebackers, like Denzel Perryman, who's more of a downhill thumping linebacker? Or I'm trying to rack my brain with some of these teams.

Is there a pass rusher with the Colts that you could try to go out and get? Or something like that.

Just because you put them on there before cutting down to 53 means they automatically count towards that.

You expect Denzel Perryman to be back 'cause they said he's gonna be out about a month.

We've had, will compton but like we've had a lot of like a lot of great players come through at linebacker but it's been short-lived these guys are signed to long-term contracts and all you got to do again is go back to it watch and i'm not a film guy although i'll go back and watch a lot of a lot of the game again because i you know get out of the freaking vacation mindset and actually like sit down and focus on the thing but like N'Kobe Dean was flashing all over the screen.

um i think when it comes to this this

overall team not that the offense doesn't have leadership right but like you look at the best leaders on the team you're talking about derwin you're talking about khalil You're talking about Denzel Perryman, who's not playing right now.

probably talking about to your Tartt, who just from an attitude standpoint brings that edge that you need.

I thought Phillips was a step slow in coverage.

I'm concerned about this group and not going to push the panic button But there's a trend here of when Denzel Perryman misses time, this linebacker unit does not perform up to standards.

And I think that to me is just not acceptable with what we expect out of Dan Henley.

And I think that I expect him to bounce back strongly this week.

um but he's supposed to be the guy he's the green dot he is the captain he is the guy that we ex that we know has that kind of ceiling where he could be an all pro level player and so for him to come out this week and play as slow and as confused maybe as he did to me was pretty concerning um not that i expect delshon phillips and troy die to be like amazing football players but dan is supposed to be the guy and if they if if him not having Denzel Perryman next to him is that much of a deterrent to his play.

I think it's fair to raise some questions.

So you and I are huge Marlo wax fans.

I think he would alleviate some of those weaknesses of Troy and I and Del Sean Phillips.

I just feel like it's a more natural marriage o- of their skillsets.

Yeah, and I mean, the thing is, is like I don't think it's necessarily bad that Delshan Phillips as a run-stuffing kind of guy, 'cause that's kind of just what it feels like he is, like that's where his, you know, bread is going to be buttered, s- similar to Denzel Perryman.

But, like, you just need more than that, especially when teams are gonna try to throw on you on early downs to take advantage of the fact that you're on the field.
