yeah man I have a very similar story it sounds like okay well so you mentioned Odd Nerd Room and that was like that was actually one of the first books I found at the Denver Public Library where I was like whoa like this is like I was like it was kind of like I mean it was right around the same time I don't know if I discovered Rembrandt first or after Nerd Room because I had a very like parsifal like journey through art history it wasn't like all presented as a cohesive conversation and i selected the book you know it was sort of like whatever landed in my lap was sort of circumstantial yeah like just sort of happened so yeah nerd german and rembrandt kind of all like fell into my lap at the same time but both were it was seeing that work was a revelation because everything else up at that point just looked fake, you know, but it, but it just looked graphic-y, you know, I was kind of into the same stuff, like coming out of skateboard, snowboard, punk rock kind of culture.
Christian Rex van MinnenHOST
9:01
So I got a little bit of that stuff, like, you know, pop culture art.
Christian Rex van MinnenHOST

And like I've said from day one as far as the work with One Chance goes, we are not trying to re-litigate any kind of legalization, but the protection of kids has got to start coming to the forefront, and there also needs to be, you know, just some protection of the rights of the many.
Alton DillardPANELIST
18:34
Did you all see that recently the, uh, Sam Gary branch of the Denver Public Library had to be shut down because someone had a fentanyl-mixed something that caused a hazmat situation? We really have got to start getting our hands around this issue.
Kyle DyerHOST
18:51
Mm-hmm.
Kyle DyerHOST

And I too, like Carly, I was not aware that convenience stores sold all this stuff.
Brendan O'MearaGUEST

But even something as seemingly mundane as a little tab for acknowledgments, just, like, the little people that help you along the way, of which there are dozens, of which there were many I forgot to include in the acknowledgments because I didn't adequately catalog them effectively in my central nervous system.
Brendan O'MearaGUEST
25:03
Uh, so, like, shout out to the Denver Public Library and, uh, and my, and a dog sitter of mine, dog trainer of mine who, who helped out greatly during some of my, like, more heated research and writing days.
Brendan O'MearaGUEST
25:15
And so yes, like, uh, so I would do this thing.
Brendan O'MearaGUEST
25:18
It would be, like, the date, the headline, the byline, the page numbers, uh, the per- yeah, the person who wrote it.
Bree DaviesHOST
5:41
My friend and mentor, Heather Dalton, who's a documentarian and a filmmaker and a musician, will be on that panel.
Bree DaviesHOST

Bree DaviesHOST

Bree DaviesHOST
11:44
That is where I got all of this information.
Bree DaviesHOST
11:46
They interviewed everybody from Tom Noel to, uh, librarians at the Denver Public Library.
Bree DaviesHOST
11:51
They talked to all sorts of experts on how to pronounce the names in the s- in the city that you may, uh, mispronounce, so I'll put a link to that in the show notes.
Bree DaviesHOST
11:58
But, uh, I thought the Kalamath one was really interesting.
Allie HornerHOST
3:44
Then I would go into Google and I would do some sleuthing.
Allie HornerHOST
3:47
I love the Denver Public Library for this, by the way.
Allie HornerHOST

Local libraries have a lot of the...

the lore they keep the lore they keep old copies of magazines newspapers who bought what houses who lived where things like that can be found there especially for prominent people in society so people who would have been in the news people you know all that fun stuff so I did a little bit of sleuthing each time and after I would have the spirit come through and share all the clues and details and channel the messages, then I would Google and I would sync things up and I would realize like, okay, yes, this is this person or this is that person or, you know, this guy matches everything.

Allie HornerHOST

When I was younger, I didn't know any better.
Allie HornerHOST
15:38
But, you know, I've been doing this work long enough now that I know when something is coming through clairaudiently, it's because there's a spirit there who's like, no, I'm trying to tell you, boo.
Allie HornerHOST
15:50
I'm So I finally, through a confluence of events, looking up and Googling stuff about these other people that were coming through playing spiritual games of Guess Who, found an article published on the Denver Public Library website.
Allie HornerHOST
