Dennis Wise

I mean, I think the best comparison is the older boys around where my dad sits.

Because he was almost a bit Dennis Wise-esque.

Yeah, my dad's the same.

Having said that, I hope Dennis Wise is listening to this because I've seen Dennis Wise, ex-Chelsea captain,

you know, from the sort of

1990s, early 2000s.

I want to give him an invitation, and it's really nice.

I wouldn't say I'm coming for you, Dan.

I wouldn't threaten Dennis Wise.

I'm not threatening.

Started for Quentin Stamford Bridge a lot more around 91, 92, sort of under Ian Porterfield when we first got the likes of Dennis Wise and Billy Jones, that kind of era.

So I grew up in the mid-90s.

And then to see you interviewing Eddie Newton, Kevin Hitchcock, Michael Dubry, you know, like to see you interviewing like Frank Sinclair, to see you interviewing.

They wasn't there to like, obviously it wasn't there to get paid.

It wasn't there for any other reason than this kind of organic reason that me and you shared for wanting to do the podcast.

So massive thanks to, especially for me, like I say, especially for me, the nineties interviews, Gavin Peacock and, David Lee and I mean these were my superheroes when I was growing up everyone else supported Man United and Liverpool and all that right everybody loved Michael Owen and Steve McManaman and Eric Cantona and David Beckham and rightly so fantastic footballers and all the rest of it I had David Lee and Michael Dubry and Eddie Newton and Mark Hughes, you know, they were my superheroes when I was, but Dennis Wise above all else, unfortunately.

Wise, he was difficult to get on because he's got a lot of speaking engagements and it's kind of what he does for a living now.

And then I come on and I'm just full of excitement and yeah, smash McAlealy.

And then when the ref blew his whistle to resume play, I then chased down Dennis Wise as well in midfield, took the ball off of him.

So I had a few good moments, to be honest, within the game.

And yeah, like I said, to play with likes of Peter Crouch, Steven Gerrard, Sammy Hupia, you know, some real do-deck, you know, kind of going back to that Istanbul team, kind of that won the Champions League, it was kind of celebrating that era.
