Dennis Price

And lastly, 1964's The Earth Dies Screaming, directed by Terence Fisher, written by Harry Spalding.

Stars Willard Parker, Virginia Field, and Dennis Price.

One hour and two minutes.

It's-

I would say.

Dennis Price has so many h- zingers in this film.

I mean, Dennis Price-

It's just on fire

... cor- correct me if I'm wrong, the last time we saw Dennis Price, was it really Watch It, Sailor?

Yes, it was.

It's gotta be eight years, but my goodness me, that poor man has aged more than eight years.

Mm.

And then you still break the rule.

Our double feature this week, our first movie was Kind Hearts and Coronets from 1946, starring Dennis Price, Alec Guinness, and Valerie Hobson, a distant poor relative of the Duc d'Escoigne, plot to inherit the title by murdering the eight other heirs who stand ahead of him in the line of succession.

We've paired that with King Ralph from 1991.

It stars John Goodman, Peter O'Toole, and John Hurt.

He worked with a lot of very interesting actors, some big actors.

You know, if you look at a lot of the films that he made for Harry Allen Towers, for example, you know, you can see actors obviously like Christopher Lee and Dennis Price, George Sanders, Leo Gann, Mercedes McCambridge, Maria Schell.

You know, the list goes on and on.

It's quite a distinguished roster of actors.

He did, of course, continue to revisit the genre.

In the 1970s, he made a French film part of his collection.

A really interesting run of films for the French producer Robert Danel, a movie called Devil's Island Lovers, which features the English actor Dennis Price, who had started working with Franco on Venus and Furs, which I think is Franco's best film.

The Harry Allen Towers produced Venus and Furs from 1969 and continued to work with Franco off and on for other producers as well.

where that's give it away.

Uh, where apparently a coordinate is a kind of a crown, uh, But it features Dennis Price and Joan Greenwood as your Margaret Qualley and Glenn Powell characters.

But, you know, the rich family in this movie, there are seven of them.

And in Kind Hearts and Coronets, there are eight of them.

Um-

... another little, nice little moment where the, the grave robber, Dennis Price, turns up and says, "Oh, I've got loads of parts for you now.

You've got to give me a hand.

You know, we'll, we'll need lots of space because I've just got loads of stuff, and it's gonna take more than one trip." [laughs] You know, and he's just got like his cart full of dead bodies and different parts.

...

Prowse's, um, monster.

Um, I love Dennis Price as the grave robber.

Yeah.
