Dennis Gilbert

I'm like, come on, man.

That's why I always want a guy like Denny Gilbert in the lineup.

I know we've struggled defensively, but when you have a guy out there like Olivier who can chuck him and is willing to play on the edge, and also Carson Soucy who you know will play with an edge, I would have liked to have seen Denny Gilbert out there.

But, I mean, I get it.

Samuelson was ready to go.

You know, the enforcer is not necessarily a thing anymore.

The closest thing we have to an enforcer is like a Denny Gilbert.

And that would be my take is just, you know, You see who you got a hold of.

You know he's not going to give you a fight like even Dennis Gilbert would.

You know, treat him with some level of respect.

But I also would have liked to know what they were hollering at each other at afterwards because obviously, you know, that part of it was Olivier was pissed that Metza went after him.

And then the Sabres recalled Dennis Gilbert from Rochester of the American Hockey League to join the team when they face the Blue Jackets, and Zellweger's been out since September 22nd when he hit the ice following a hit by Columbus' Carson Sushi.

And Zellweger's been placed on injured reserve, and Gilbert is a St. Joe's alum who signed with the Sabres as a free agent in July.

He played 25 games with Buffalo in 2024 to '25 before he was sent to Ottawa as part of a trade for Josh Norris in March of 2025.

Um, we don't know what the D pairs actually are or anything, so this is best guess, but they signed Matt Grzelcyk, so, um, it's either him or, uh...

Well, I, when I was surprised, I guess they either, I gu- I guess they waived Dennis Gilbert, you know.

Oh, boy.

Um, so Matt Grzelcyk should play, but I don't know.
