I don't know, a few months ago at this point, couldn't tell you exactly when, I got one of my favorite emails that I get, which is one Mr. Dennis Bartok emailing me out of the blue like, hey, Celeste, we have this random project of this movie you've never heard of.

Do you want to write an essay about it? And I always say yes, because it's always a good time or something interesting.

But this project in particular really intrigued me because... lost films are a sort of special interest of mine in my sort of work and uh film criticism and i just think they're really fascinating and fun to discover and explore and i

revisited the Gwen in the Book of Sand one the other day, and yeah, it's genuinely astonishing.

Dark City, the lost world of film noir.

And my friend Dennis Bartok was programming for the American Cinematheque in Hollywood.

They had just moved into the Egyptian theater in Hollywood their first year there.

And he was looking for film festivals everywhere.

They're inspired by the stories.

They're inspired by the mood and they're inspired by the music.

And and so I it just suddenly occurred to me because I'm very dear friends with this woman, Elizabeth Bouguereau, who's a jazz singer.

And she fronts a band called the Hot Sardines.
