And it's true.

But, um- I did learn about humility.

I learnt that, and I learnt that life can just be such a hard slog, and there is no way, but, you know, you go through it.

And I learnt that I was much more prone to, what is it, depression.

Uh, I didn't have much stamina mentally or physically to cope with the treatment.

How did you cope with that?

You thought you'd get asked left, right and center to be doing breast cancer fundraisers.

This was an extraordinary gig.

You know, every now and again it's like – This is one of the great moments, honours.

So Professor Richard Scalia, do you know who he was? I do not, sorry.

So Professor Richard Scalia was Australian of the Year, was it three, four years ago? He and his work colleague both won it.

because they have changed the whole nature of melanoma treatment and people are now living, whereas they would have been dying because of Professor Richard Scolier's research and his work colleague's research.

It's like here's some other work and you're going to see something completely different.

But so then I would have to have the blood test the day before.

And so in the end, I just didn't tell anyone and I'd go, I'd find a way to get blood tests done in the morning of the chemo.

And it was really risk-taking because it's like if they haven't got the tests in, you're not going to get your chemo.

But I couldn't figure out any other way of doing this and being there for film.

I didn't know that.

I didn't know things like that.

It was

Ultimately, was it worth it?

It's a good question, Tegan.

It, yeah, in hindsight, I wouldn't choose to work and do chemotherapy.

Like, because the chemo, I ha- was having it weekly.

I'd have every third week off, um, the chemo, but I'd have to work the five days then.

So it, it, yes, I think it did take a toll, but I think it was w- it would've been absolutely worth it if that first lot of treatment had worked, but it didn't.

So finished filming, got through that, got back to Melbourne, had, um, a lumpectomy and, uh, you know, and they did the biopsy from that.

Is it 'cause you gave your money away to your kids?
