An Iliad, it was written by Lisa Peterson and Dennis O'Hare, a couple, an American academic and playwright, and Dennis O'Hare is an actor, and actor and activist, and the two of them worked together because they wanted to, they were, intrigued by the problem of why are we forever going to war? What's wrong with us? And Lisa Peterson, I think, thought that that was really what's at the center of the Iliad, which is the story, really, the Iliad is, it's the Trojan War, but it's really, just the Trojan War during the lifespan, during just a few months of it towards the end.

And it's really in the sort of relationship, the culmination of the relationship between Achilles and Hector.

and so they settled down to kind of create this show which was in the tradition of early Greek poets who would recite the epics right and so the idea that a poet would stand and sing the story of the kind of was at the center of it and And so they really sort of refined and honed in this incredible story with a lot of original text as well as a bunch of the text from the Robert Fagel's translation of the Iliad.
