Demello Jones

Um, defensively, they look pretty good.

They do have one corner that's suspect in DeMello Jones.

He, he got burned pretty good, uh, by a former five-star named Chris Marshall that's at Ar-- Looks like he can play anywhere, and so far he's played just about everywhere.

If you look at this guy, he's played at, like, five schools in five years.

But this is a matchup that we have to produce some explosives from.

This is DeMello Jones, number eight.

Now, while he is incredibly talented and has the height, weight, length, everything you're looking for a corner, He's gotten turned around and covered some this season.

And when you look at their corners, are you going to pick on Ellis Robinson, who a lot of people think is going to be a first-rounder, or are you going to go after the other guy?

Yep.

You have to win that matchup.

You have to be able to attack DeMello Jones and produce some explosives.

Because you look at the rest of the secondary, like the corners and the safeties, and you're like, well, I think every one of them might be a first-round pick eventually.

I'm going to look at it this way, though.

My honorable mention, though, Davin, DeMello Jones.

I think you're going to see him get tested.

Oh, for sure.

But as a coach,

would you go after the guy that they say is probably the first corner, you know, off the board and what some sites are saying, you know, in the league? Some scouts were saying he's the best corner to come out of Georgia, says Chip Bailey.

Or are you going to go to the guy on the other end that don't have all those, you know, accolades? DeMello Jones is going to get tested regardless because teams are going to circle Ellis Robinson as the first DB that's coming off the board.

So we're not going to look over there first.

I think he's been playing well.

I don't want to see more of Braylon Conley because I think DeMello Jones is playing bad.

I just think that Braylon Conley is a very, very solid option for cornerback three.

Something they've always done under Kirby Smart.

There's always been three guys in that rotation, even if there is one solid known for a fact commodity.

So...

I think, yes, we need to see Braylon Conley more, but I don't think it's because of the way DeMello Jones is playing, if that makes any sense.

Yeah,

But those are certain things that make me concerned where you say, hmm, looked a little beat there.

There were times where DeMello Jones also looked like he got beat inside.

I think one of their longer explosive plays was because of that.

Stuff like that that just makes you concerned.

He's very good.

Now, did DeMello Jones, was he out of position? Did he look? But, yeah, he got played in this game.

He got got.

I'm not concerned about him, big picture, long term.
